Thick yarn

peekaboo from the north -

When I was a kid, there use to be thick strand yarn that you would use for yarn art. You can't knit with it, but it wasn't made for knitting. I can't find it anywhere! Is it not made anymore? Does anyone know of a place that sells it? I can't even find it on google.
