• Page 1 (Original Post) • Jeanette from AZ (Contact Member) - I will be buying a model car kit for my son this year at Christmas. He's 12 and I believe he's ready and responsible to undertake this kind of hobby. He had a friend who started this up and now he's fascinated by it. Comment #1 Fran from New York (Contact Member) - My nephew is 6 and wants a model car kit. I think he's a little bit too young to be handling something like that. I think 12 is the perfect age. Comment #2 Nancy from Wisconsin (Contact Member) - That's a long wait for the little fellow... why not check around for a very simple model? Maybe a snap together one? Comment #3 Ember from The Easel (Contact Member) - Model airplanes are fairly easy too. You may want to look around for a model plane kit. They do make ones for the younger kids. Any project needs supervision anyways so really you could do it with any age child with adult supervision and assisstance. Comment #4 Naid (63.176.159.228) - Actually a six - year old can handle a model kit hobby too. There are different degrees of difficulty in model kits. Maybe the kid could start a a lower difficulty ones like what Ms. Nancy talks about. There are also paper or cardboard model kits out there. There are kits that will not require the use of very sharp edge cutters, the one that will only need a pair of scissors and some glue are the perfect kits for that age group. • Page 1 (Original Post) •
