Clay Pots

Has anyone tried making their own clay pots. In school I made one that was awesome. I glazed it in blue and it really turned out good. I would like to make more, but I don't have my own kiln. I wonder if there is somewhere that you can pay them to fire your objects for you.

I tried it once and i was terrible at it. What i started doing though is keeping the old flower pots and any other misc pot i found and started painting them to blend into the kitchen. I have a few as decorations with sponge designs on them.

I know that blue glaze you mean. it has a cobalt component and picks up surface deteriorations in a really interesting way.

I still have my clay pot that I made when I was in 3rd grade! It is all lops sided! I use it to hold pencils and pens in. The sell clay wheel craft kits at Kmart.
