Does anyone know where to find any of the books that have different macrame projects in them. Our local craft store used to carry a wide selection, but I can't seem to find any.

Here is a website that tells you how to Macrame:

Books are old school. Look for hints, ideas and information on the internet. Share some of your ideas with the rest of us here too.

I have never heard of macrame, I am sure I have seen it. What does this involve. I saw the link with the keychain, but don't really understand what it is?

My mom made a planter when i was small with these really cool matching beads. It was great because then the hanging planter didn't rust and looked colorful when you looed out the window.

It was for a creeping charly.

So that is what macramés looks like. I was kinda curious what are you talking about here so I decided to take a look at Google. I have already seen these designs but didn't know what to call it.

I have also found out a useful website that provides different macrame item how tos. Some of the instructions is about

STARTING A NECKLACE, BRACELET, CHOKER, ETC.

STARTING AND ENDING A WALL HANGING

FINISHING A NECKLACE, BRACELET, ETC. AT THE CLASP

ADDING CORDS

DECREASING CORDS

PLANT HANGER TIPS

cramer, why don't you just post your site as a link?

Isn't macrame like rope knots or something like that? Isn't it just knotting the rope or whatever material you have to make a planter like mongoose mentioned or other such items?
