I think something kids of all ages would love to make are the headbands that you make into ears. I have made bunnies, dogs, cats, mice, elephants, and monkeys. The kids really enjoy making them. Try making some for every holiday.

I know my little ones love the headbands and pretend to be cats. I bought them cat Halloween costumes so they can go around this year.

I bought my youngest one one of those headbands for Christmas when she was in a Christmas recital. They were reindeer ears and they were so cute!!

Where can you get the bulk headband stock?

I would love to make dres up headbands for christmas using decorator silks and satins. Much less expensive than buying a whole dress, and shows up in photos.

I buy the cheap plastic ones and have my girls tie beautiful colored ribbons around them. That is a good idea with the animal ears too!

Bunny Ear Headbands

1 plastic headband

Fabric or Fun Foam

Ribbon

Glue

Scissors

Sewing machine or fabric glue

To get started you want to cut out two ovals from the fun foam. These need to be about 6 inches tall and about 3 inches wide.

Tip: If you want to make a pink inner ear color, cut out two slightly smaller ovals and glue them right into the middle of each of the two ears. Let the glue completely dry before you move on to the next step. If you like to sew, you can also simply sew the inner ears into place.

Now, take the two ears and cut one end of the oval straight across as close the bottom as you can. This will low be referred to as the bottom of the Easter bunny ear on the headband.

Now, take each ear and fold the bottom edge together in half vertically causing the ear to concave in.

1/2 inch up form the bottom edge use fabric glue, hot glue, or a needle and thread to hold this fold together. Right on the front edge. Do this for both ears.

Now, take your scissors, once the glue is dry and make slits vertically on their bottom edge, about four vertical slits that are about 1/4 inch tall.

Fold this slits out and bend them towards the back of the ear, like tabs on a paper doll. Fold very other tab back and the in between tabs forward.

Place a glob of hot glue on the bottom of each tab and pres the Easter bunny ears to the top of the plastic headband. Hold into place until the hot glue dries.

Now, you want to wrap the Easter bunny ears headband with ribbon to cover these loose end son the ears.

Star on the left and glue the end of the ribbon to the inside of the headband.

Start wrapping the headband, carefully covering the bottom of the tabs on the ears as you reach them.

Glue the final end to the right side. Your Easter Bunny ear headband craft is finished.

Courtney do know of a website that will teach me how to make the animal headbands for my kids?

I can remember way back in the day, wearing the headbands with ears for our school's Christmas play. I was a reindeer! They're not limited to ears you know!
