I've been looking into making beaded jewelry. There is a class that is being offered in one of the craft stores near me. I'm curious if anyone is already doing this how expensive of a hobby is this?

I think the hobby wouldn't be very expensive. My suggestion is to buy in bulk, make a bunch. Keep some that you like for yourself, of course. But, then sell some on an auction site such as ebay and from the profit you make, your necklaces/bracelets will be free!

Great idea...Now all I have to do is find the time to do it. LOL. I might start it up though in time for Christmas.

Go for it! I kept meaning to take the beading classes offered at the bead stores. Now I live somewhere that I haven't been able to find a bead store.

There's a new store that opened up at the mall that is all catered to beading. As part of their grand opening special, they are offering a free class!! I'm taking full advantage of it.

You are SO lucky, Fran. What is the name of the store. I truly have not been able to find anything near me other than Michael's.

I would like to bead too but my hands are too shaky and I don't think I would be able to make something nice. I probably would end up too frustrated with beads so small. I can handle bigger crafting projects no problem.

Zen, with beading you typically pick up the beads with a needle, not your hands. But I understand. I am a complete butterfingers. The carpet shows whenever I've done a bead project. I always hope I have lots of extras.
