Beaded Watch Band

Let's Bead from Making jewelry -

TOOLS NEEDED

Needle-nose chain pliers

Wire cutters

Crimping pliers

Tape measure or ruler

1 Watch face

1 30 Ft. Spool Bright Soft Flex stringing wire size .014 -- We used 24".

4 8mm Swarovski Chrysolite cube crystals or equivalent

6 6mm Swarovski Jonquil round crystals or equivalent

10 4mm Swarovski Light Rose round crystals or equivalent

28 2mm Sterling silver round beads

28 4mm Sterling silver daisy spacers

1 Packet sterling silver, small crimp beads -- Sometimes they are also called 2x2.

1 8mm Sterling silver magnetic clasp

Step 1

Using the wire cutters, cut 2 pieces of Soft Flex at 7" each.

Step 2

Fold the stringing wire in half and slide it through the watch bail.

Step 3

Slide 3 sterling silver beads onto each stringing wire.

Step 4

Combine the two stringing wires and slide on a 8mm Chrysolite crystal.

Step 5

On the combined stringing wires, add a

a) daisy spacer

b) 6mm Jonquil crystal

c) daisy spacer

Step 6

Separate the stringing wires. On each wire add

a) 2mm sterling silver beads

b) 4mm Light Rose crystals

c) 2mm sterling silver beads

Step 7

a) Scoot the beads up towards the watch.

b) Recombine the stringing wires and slide on a daisy spacer.

Step 8

On the combined stringing wires, add a

a) 6mm Jonquil crystal

b) daisy spacer

c) 8mm Chrysolite crystal

Step 9

a) Repeat steps 6-8b.

b) Slide on a 4mm Light Rose crystal.

Step 10

a) Slide a crimp bead on the combined stringing wires.

b) Add half of the magnetic clasp.

Step 11

Loop the combined stringing wires back through the crimp bead.

Step 12

Use the needle-nose chain pliers to pull the loop tight.

Step 13

Be sure to leave some wiggle room for the clasp to move freely.

Step 14

a) Place the crimp bead into the inner jaw (lip-shaped hole) of the crimping pliers.

b) Gently squeeze the crimp bead until it forms a hammock.

Step 15

To fold the hammock in half, place it into the outer jaw (oval-shaped hole) of the crimping pliers.

Step 16

Use the needle nose pliers to slightly flatten the crimp bead.

Step 17

Use the wire cutters to trim off excess stringing wire.

Helpful Hint

Be sure and trim them one at a time so you don't dull your cutters!

Step 18

Now that you've finished one end of your beaded watch band, repeat steps 4-17 on the other side of the watch face.

Helpful Hint

Keep your watch running smoothly by keeping the magnets away from its metal movements.
