Kim (207.179.147.230) - Does anyone know of any inexpensive hobbies that a perons can start to get into if they are on a tight budget? Comment #1 Xaviersmommy (70.39.124.216) - I crossstitch. And do canvas work.If you go to a craft store then you can usually find bulks of this stuff for free. You can get the yarn for about $1.99 for a big roll. The canvas are like 8 for $1. This is atucally my favorite type. Comment #2 Xaviersmommy (70.39.124.216) - I also forgot to mention that you can d needlepoint. That is also quite fun Comment #3 endora (24.45.126.104) - Needlepoint is pretty reasonable for a kit in the store. If you like arts and crafts look up on the web "oriental trading company" they have tons of cheap little kits you could make for christmas or other holidays. Comment #4 Courtney from Amarillo, Texas, USA!! - I like to scrapbook, it can get a little expensive, but I try to buy all of my supplies wholesale or on ebay. There are always leftover supplies too so that helps for the next project. Comment #5 endora (24.45.126.104) - Scrapbooking from all i hear is not cheap! Seems like you could spend alot of money on decorations and stickers setting it up! Comment #6 Makis77 from Earth - hello, Comment #7 endora (24.45.126.104) - You know i used to go to the beach and get shells and decorate boxes and it sounds like the mosaics you did. I also made a really nice wind chime out of worn shells from the beach. Even the worn out beach glass is really nice to work with. Comment #8 Lorelei from The South - Check out your dollar stores. We have one called Dollar tree and they have great craft supplies. They have beads, rocks, stickers, paper, and tons tons more. They have great stuff for kids to do. Comment #9 Deb Carithers (63.87.161.62) - Wed Jul 2 10:42:22 2008 I like to take my dog for a walk. I take a bag with me, snatch some grapevines off a fence. I take it home, wrap and tie it in a circle to make a grapevine wreath. Then on walks, I take my bag and 'find things' to decorate the wreath with. I find bittersweet, cat tails, seed pods, plumed grasses. It's fun. I can decorate the wreath repeatedly by poking the stems of my 'finds' through the weave of the wreath.
