• Page 1 (Original Post) • endora (24.45.126.104) - Does anyone do this? I learned years ago and would like to find some good sites that i can refresh myself with or find wool or supplies i might need. Comment #1 Jeanette from AZ (Contact Member) - I've done the latch hooking, that's not the same thing is it? I remember being taught to do the latch hook thing back in elementary school. We had a simple project in Home Ec with the yarn and such...it was basically a black background with a yellow smiley face. Gosh, I wonder what I did with that thing? LOL. Comment #2 endora (24.45.126.104) - This is alot different. You work with a piece of burlap and wool strips and a rug hook. You cut the wool yourself and create a pattern on the burlap. You should buy a special wood frame for the burlap to be stretched on as you hook. Its alot of work on your hands but its fun to mess with the wool and drys to mix colors. You can use onion skins on the wool or beet skins to make colors. The key is to keep it primitive and natural. Rarely do you use anything but wool and natural dyes on it. Comment #3 Courtney (1) from The South (Contact Member) - Does anyone have a good book or website that can teach how to do this? I would really be interested in learning how, I am looking for a new hobby. Comment #4 mongoose from USA (Contact Member) - am not sure if you have to go that bioorganic to enjoy latch hooking. Comment #5 endora (24.45.126.104) - I am trying to find a website myself. I was taught in a class by this local lady years ago. You never loose the knowledge on how to do it but i cant find anyone that supplies the goods and has the same interest. Comment #6 rick (63.176.159.2) - what is latch hooking? can anybody recommend a site to see some latch hooking? Comment #7 Sally Van Nuys from Amherst OH (Contact Member) - Hello there everyone! I am a rug hooking designer and you can find tons of instructions on my web site for choosing wool specific for rug hooking (not latch hooking.) I also have a beginner's kit hat contains a pattern, cut wool, a hook, and all the instructions you'll need to learn and get started in traditional rug hooking with wool strips. If I can help you along while you learn, I will! Comment #8 fred (63.176.159.38) - cool website. i seen some nice rugs there. • Page 1 (Original Post) •
