My kids went to a birthday party where they had an origami expert come in and teach them the basics. They really enjoyed it and came home with some beatiful pieces!!

Wow I would be interested in buying a book on origami. I figured it would be too hard for kids to do. How old were the kids? I teach second grade, I wonder if it would be too hard for them?

There is an origami kit for kids right now at Michaels for 5.00. My nephews are too young and don't have the patience right now so I didn't buy one, but it would be a good craft for kids in the older elementary grades or even middle school. And, five bucks, how can you beat that???

I'll have to tell my sister about that. Her kids saw an origami artist at a bookstore recently and bought a book about origami for them for Christmas. She could get each of them that kit and stick it in their stocking. Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully they have that same kit at her location.
