I recently had a customer to get very up set when I finished her draperies and they were not hand sewn. I told her this day in time all drapes were sewn by a sewing machine. She said no she wanted all sewn by hand. I told her good luck, it would take too long to stitch all the seams by hand. What is your opinion

Draperies sewn by hand? My gosh that would take FOREVER!! I never even knew that draperies could be sewn by hand. I figured that they all had to be sewn by a machine.

She needs to outsource the work... to someplace where wages are low and they might still do a lot of sewing by hand!

Of course "the customer is always right" [even when they are wrong]. The real question is whether the customer made it clear she want them hand sewn when she placed the order.

Either way, some customers will say or do anything just to get out of paying for something or for an unwarranted discount.

We are a nation of complainers.

I think the quality of a sewing machine would be much better than me trying to hand sew curtains any day of the week. Plus that would take so long to do, it would be frustrating and ridiculous.

Hand sewn draperies, I also like to know how to make some hand sewn draperies. Just like what jeanette said, making them would mean forever and I do not know if I can be able to create a hand sewn draperies, or is it ever possible? Anyway, have a great day ahead guys and just keep all of those useful posts coming in. Thanks a lot guys, hope to hear from all of you.
