Stockings for kids to make

One cute thing we did with our "Christmas around the world" project was making stockings. You can cut out two stockings that match up identically from construction paper. Then you match them up and hole punch all the way around the edges, except for the top. Then you take string or yarn and thread it through the holes. They are so cute!

Last year i had my daughters make their own stockings from a all ready made felt one and they added the felt paints and glitter. They turned out so cute! I would recommend everyone with children to have them make and date stockings. Its so wonderful to pull them out every year and see how cute they are.

If you buy the silk fabric material on ebay in lots you'll get a lot of silk bits with really fine material values.

These make fantastic crafts projects for stocking!

You can make a patchwork effect or bunch it up with embroidery for a really Nutcracker type fantasy look.

Last year, someone in my daughter's class filled one of those little stockings and handed them out to the class. Each one had their name glittered on it. It was such a cute gift...certainly a big undertaking for her Mom who helped her out.
