I just use simple cardstock that I already have from my scrapbook supplies. It gives it a more personal touch. Comment #1 endora (24.45.126.104) - What do you mean by card stock? I like the self sticking ones because i hate having to break out the tape each time. Can you make them on your own as well? I would be interested to learn how to make the self sticking ones. Comment #2 Jeanette from AZ (Contact Member) - Cardstock is the paper that they use in scrapbooking. I buy variety packs of cardstock - primary colors, pastels, textured, etc. I love having it on hand. Comment #3 Nancy from Wisconsin (Contact Member) - Card stock is just thick paper (not quite cardboard) that you buy at the office supply store. You can get it in various colors and styles just like paper. Comment #4 endora (24.45.126.104) - I was thinking of using old xmas cards from the previous years and making them into gift tags. But for all the effort i think ill just buy the pack again because i love the self stick ones lol. Comment #5 Courtney (1) from The South (Contact Member) - I like the convenience of the peel and stick gift tags, but mine never stay on. The past two years I have done really fancy ribbon or rafia wrapped around my gifts and I just hole punch a tag made from card stock and thread the ribbon through, then I won't have the trouble of tags falling off. Plus it looks much more personal and they are beautiful under the tree. Comment #6 Jeanette from AZ (Contact Member) - I like the ease of the self stick ones for the gifts that I have to ship out but I love being able to personalize a gift for someone by doing the tag myself. I do it for birthdays too. Comment #7 Zen from Christmas World (Contact Member) - Cute idea...if you have the time. I just use the self stick ones. It's easier for me and nowadays you can find some really cute ones!! Comment #8 Lorelei from The South (Contact Member) - The self stick ones are very convenient, but if want to go the extra mile like I do, self made ones can be cute. I like to have lots of southern charm in my Christmas decor. We use rafia and ribbon everywhere. We make our own gift tags from different stationary we have. I probably won't do it every year, but it just seems like people expect it from me every yeat now. Comment #9 Jameel from Connecticut (Contact Member) - My sister makes the most gorgeous Christmas tags. I look forward to getting presents from her every year just to see her creations. She's quite the creative one in the family and has beautiful scrapbooks too. It just adds that special touch to the presents. • Page 1 (Original Post) •
