Isn't there a candle that does not have wax? The wick floats on top of a gel mixture and the gel evaporates, or am I thinking of something else?

I think there is such candles but I think the essence of having the name "candle" will no longer apply. Candles generally have waxes remove this and all you have is a light.

I have never heard of a candle with no wax. what would keep it burning?

Are you thinking about those candles that somehow burn the scent oil or something like that? I think I know what you're talking about, but I'm extremely forgetful with the name.
