Ive seen some really cool candle decorations where they add items inside the candle and they burn out. For example illuminations used to sell a line of candles with themes such as peace that had a rock that represented peace inside the candle. I wanted to try this but would first like to know if anyone else has done this before and the success they had.

I have seen the candles that you put on top of a light and then the light changes colors so the candle changes color too. I have not seen any candles with something inside though.

What I have seen so far are scented candles, candles where there are small candles inside them and intricately designed candles. I am puzzled how were they able to apply aroma and scents to scented candles. The small colorful candles inside a bigger candle is something I saw at a local home and lifestyle show somewhere. And finally, there are those stylish engraves on candles which will make you think twice whether to use it or not becuase the design will just melt down.

Here is some sot of instructions on how to come up with a nice candle to serve as a gift.

You will need:

- gel

- zinc wicks (don't use cotton wicks because they absorb too much gel)

- essential oil for fragrance

- liquid color dye

- embeds (optional)

Steps to making a gel candle

1. Place a little bit of hot glue in the center of the container bottom. Stick the wick in it and let the glue set.

2. Cut the gel into small pieces so it melts faster and more evenly. Melt it in a stainless steel pot over a medium heat.

3. The trickiest part is the temperature - you should get it to exactly 200°F, because overheated gel looses its clarity. For that, you will need a suitable thermometer.

The rest is on the link below.

What I am curious and eager to make are those aromatic candles. How can you place those relaxing scents in a burning wax? Is it more complicated than applying these decoration to a candle? Hope some can provide information or better yet a website which can teach us on how to make aromatic candles. It will really help us improved our candle making business. Thank you everyone for the response.

Hi there, you can try this easy candle making procedure

# To make a basic scented candle, you will need some wax. Paraffin wax is easy to find and is good in just about any type of candle. Paraffin can be found at the grocery store under the name Gulf Wax. You can also get candle making wax that's made with soy.

# You will also need a pouring pot, which is just a metal pot with a handle that you will melt the wax in.

# Have a wax or candy thermometer handy.

# Candle-making requires candle wicking.

# If you want your wax to have color, then you need to have either a liquid color, a powder, or chip color, which is a solid pigment chip.

You can view the whole procedure on the link below (just go to the the hobbies category)
